What is Rehau?
Rehau is a privately-owned German polymer-engineering company founded in 1948 and headquartered in Rehau, Bavaria. They manufacture uPVC window and door profiles, automotive components and infrastructure piping in over 170 locations worldwide. Rehau supplies its window profile to registered fabricators rather than direct to homeowners. Vitrum Solutions is a Rehau fabricator — we make the finished windows in our own workshop from genuine Rehau profile and install them with our own team.
Which Rehau systems do you install?
We install the full Rehau residential range: TOTAL70 and TOTAL70 Edge casement windows, Rehau Rio flush casement and Rio inline horizontal-sliding flush, Slinova inline sliding patio doors, plus matching French and single doors and bay/bow window configurations on TOTAL70 profile. Where heritage sliding sash is required we fit Victorian Sliders ECOSlide sash windows, which give the truest period-correct sash detail.
Are you a Rehau fabricator or just an installer?
Both. Vitrum Solutions fabricates Rehau uPVC windows and doors in our own workshop from genuine Rehau profile, then fits them with our own fitters. Because Rehau sells its profile to registered fabricators rather than direct to homeowners, fabricating in-house means you deal with one company from manufacture through to the finished fit. FENSA registered, with a 10-year CPA insurance-backed guarantee.

How energy efficient are Rehau windows?
Rehau TOTAL70 multi-chamber profiles achieve U-values of 0.8 W/m²K using triple-glazed argon-filled sealed units, and the system can achieve an A+ BFRC energy rating, comfortably exceeding the current Approved Document L 1.4 W/m²K maximum. TOTAL70 Edge uses a six-chamber profile for further improvement; Rio flush casement is A-rated at 1.3 W/m²K, and Slinova sliding doors use multi-chamber profiles and warm-edge spacer bars.
Is Rehau better than other uPVC brands?
Rehau is widely regarded as the premium uPVC brand alongside Veka and Schuco LivIng. Compared to budget UK uPVC systems (Synseal, Eurocell entry-level), Rehau has more thermal chambers, thicker outer wall thickness, more rigid frame extrusion, and significantly better long-term colour stability on darker shades. Most budget uPVC fades noticeably on south-facing installations within 7-10 years; Rehau is warranted not to.
How much do Rehau windows cost?
Final price depends on the system (TOTAL70 casement, Rio flush, Slinova sliding doors, Victorian Sliders sash), opening size, panel count, and any glazing or motorisation upgrades. Every Vitrum Solutions installation includes supply, FENSA certification, waste removal and a 10-year CPA insurance-backed guarantee. Request a free no-obligation quote on 0800 861 1450.
Can Rehau windows be used in conservation areas?
Often yes — but it depends on the local planning authority and whether your property is listed. Rehau Rio flush casement and Victorian Sliders sash both have heritage detailing (run-through horns, deep bottom rail, authentic astragal bars on the sash; flush sash sitting level with the frame on Rio) that many planning officers approve as like-for-like for timber. Listed buildings normally require timber. We handle the planning consultation and supporting paperwork as part of our quote. Full guide: uPVC Sash Windows in Conservation Areas: UK Guide.
