Frequently Asked Questions
What types of porch are available?
We offer uPVC, aluminium, and combination porches in traditional, contemporary and bespoke designs to complement any property.
Do porches need planning permission?
Most porches under 3 square metres don't need planning permission under permitted development rights. We advise on requirements during your consultation.
How long does porch installation take?
A typical porch installation takes 3 to 5 days from groundworks through to completion, depending on size and complexity.
Do porches add value to a property?
Yes — a well-designed porch adds kerb appeal, security, and additional usable space, all of which increase property value.
How much does a porch cost?
Typical band £3,500 to £8,000 fully installed. Where you sit on that range depends on the footprint, the roof style (flat, pitched, or tiled to match the host property), the brick/aluminium/uPVC mix, and the number of doors — a single front door costs less than a wraparound porch with side glazing. Groundworks, frame, glazing and finishing are all included.
What guarantees do you offer?
Whether your porch is built in aluminium, uPVC or a combination of the two, the frame system carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty covering profiles, hardware and powder-coat or extruded finishes — fully integrated with the host wall for weather-tightness. Most porches under 3m² fall under permitted development, so FENSA registration applies only to the door and glazed elements where required. Vitrum Solutions adds a 10-year CPA insurance-backed guarantee on every porch installation.
