The Four Origin Sliding Systems
OS-29+, the flagship
A 29 mm interlock where the sliding panels meet, so a closed set reads as near-uninterrupted glass. Sashes up to 2,200 mm wide and 2,620 mm tall, sets up to 13,166 mm across six panels, and a whole-door U-value as low as 0.78 W/m²K with triple glazing. Tested to PAS 24:2022. The OS-29+ is the only Origin slider with a flush-stacking option and an outward-facing lead door. Our first recommendation for most rear extensions.
OS-29, the established 29 mm slider
The same 29 mm interlock in a shallower 143 mm frame, with a 28 mm glass unit and PAS 24:2016 certification. Sashes up to 2,200 × 2,520 mm. A strong choice where the opening is within its height range and the slimmer frame depth suits the build-up.
OS-44, the 44 mm slider
A 44 mm interlock with 28, 32 or 36 mm glass units and sashes up to 2,000 × 2,520 mm. The OS-44 is not PAS 24 rated, so where security certification matters to you or your insurer we specify the OS-29+ or the OS-77 instead.
OS-77, the widest Origin interlock
A 77 mm interlock that gives a more pronounced, framed look, dry glazed with 28, 32 or 36 mm units. PAS 24:2016 certified when fitted with a P1A laminated glass unit, which we specify whenever you need the certified configuration.

What is the difference between the Origin OS-29+, OS-29, OS-44 and OS-77?
All four are Origin aluminium in-line sliding doors. The number is the interlock, the vertical line where two sliding panels meet: 29 mm on the OS-29+ and OS-29, 44 mm on the OS-44 and 77 mm on the OS-77. The OS-29+ is the current flagship: a 167 mm frame, sashes up to 2,200 × 2,620 mm, U-values as low as 0.78 W/m²K, PAS 24:2022 and a flush-stacking option. The OS-29 and OS-77 are PAS 24:2016 certified; the OS-44 is not PAS 24 rated.
Are Origin sliding doors lift-and-slide?
No. Every Origin sliding door is an in-line slider: the panels run on concealed rollers along the track without being lifted. Where a project needs lift-and-slide, we fabricate and install Cortizo or Schuco lift-and-slide systems instead, and we set out both options in your quote.
How wide can an Origin sliding door be?
On the OS-29+, a two-panel set runs from 1,127 mm to 4,450 mm wide, a three-panel set to 6,621 mm, a four-panel OXXO set to 8,825 mm and a six-panel OXXXXO set to 13,166 mm, with frame heights up to 2,700 mm. Origin describes these widths as a guide, because the final limit depends on sash height and area, so we confirm your exact layout at survey.
What U-value does the Origin OS-29+ achieve?
It depends on the glass. With a 28 mm double-glazed unit at a 1.2 centre-pane value the whole door reaches 1.4 W/m²K, which meets Part L for replacement doors. A 1.1 centre pane gives 1.2 W/m²K, and triple glazing in a 44 mm unit takes it down to 0.78 W/m²K. Origin's figures are calculated to BS EN ISO 10077-1 and 2.
Are Origin sliding doors secure?
The OS-29+ is tested to PAS 24:2022, the current edition of the UK security standard, with a multi-point lock and a 3-Star Diamond cylinder as standard. The OS-29 and OS-77 hold PAS 24:2016. Origin's certificates for the OS-29+ and OS-77 apply with a P1A laminated glass unit. The OS-44 is not PAS 24 rated, which is why we steer security-led projects to the OS-29+.
What is flush stacking on the OS-29+?
Flush stacking lets the sliding panels finish flush with each other when the door is open, for a cleaner look across the stacked glass. When you choose it, the external handle is replaced by Origin's colour-coded recessed handle. It is available on the OS-29+ only.
What colours do Origin sliding doors come in?
Origin's popular finishes include Jet Black 9005M, Anthracite Grey 7016M, Black Grey 7021M, Slate Grey 7015M and Hipca White, and more than 150 RAL colours are available. A marine-grade finish is offered for coastal and exposed locations. Popular colours carry Origin's shortest lead times.
