Why Cor Vision Sliding
Cor Vision Sliding — slim 34 mm interlock
Cortizo's slimline sliding patio door. 34 mm interlock between leaves keeps the visible mullion narrow. Max sash up to 3 m × 2.8 m at 400 kg per panel — a substantial sash on a slim profile, suiting most UK rear-extension and patio openings where the architectural priority is glass area without moving up to the Plus tier.
Cor Vision Plus Sliding — 20 mm central junction
The premium Cortizo slider. 20 mm central junction (notably slimmer than Cor Vision's 34 mm) — the closed door reads as a near-frameless panoramic glass plane. Max sash 3.3 m × 3 m at up to 500 kg per panel and glazing capacity to 54 mm so triple-glazed Low-E and acoustic-spec laminated combinations both fit. The Cortizo equivalent of structural-glass aesthetics at conventional aluminium-slider cost.
Standard slide function (not lift-and-slide)
Cor Vision Sliding and Cor Vision Plus Sliding are standard sliders — the leaf rolls horizontally on a precision track and the handle operates the lock without lifting the sash. Distinct from Cortizo's lift-and-slide systems (4700 Sliding Patio, 4900 Sliding HI) where the handle physically lifts the leaf off the seal before sliding (used for heavier sashes). For the lift-and-slide range, see /cortizo/lift-and-slide.
Spanish-engineered, thermally broken
Cortizo's polyamide thermal break separates the cold outside metal from the warm inside metal, and the multi-chamber profile keeps the structure dimensionally stable across UK seasonal temperature swings. Whole-product thermal performance comfortably exceeds Approved Document L (1.4 W/m²K maximum for replacement doors).
PAS 24:2022 + Secured by Design configurations
All Cortizo Cor Vision opening profiles are PAS 24:2022 certified with multi-point shootbolt locking, anti-lift devices on the running track, internally-beaded glazing, and toughened safety glass throughout (mandatory under Approved Document K within 800mm of finished floor level). Secured by Design configurations available where insurance specs require it.

What is the difference between Cor Vision Sliding and Cor Vision Plus Sliding?
Cor Vision Sliding has a 34 mm interlock between leaves and supports max sash up to 3 m × 2.8 m at 400 kg per panel — the slim residential slider. Cor Vision Plus Sliding has a 20 mm central junction (notably slimmer than Cor Vision's 34 mm), supports max sash 3.3 m × 3 m at up to 500 kg per panel, and accepts glazing up to 54 mm thick. Choose Cor Vision Plus when the architectural priority is the slimmest possible central junction or when sash size or glazing weight exceeds Cor Vision's limits.
How does Cortizo Cor Vision compare to Schuco ASS sliding?
Both are premium aluminium sliders. Cortizo Cor Vision Plus has a 20 mm central junction and supports 500 kg sashes up to 3.3 m × 3 m. Schuco's ASS 77 PD Panorama (lift-and-slide) supports 3200×3000 mm sashes at 500 kg with whole-window Uw under 0.8 W/m²K and a 30 mm central section. Cor Vision Plus has the slimmer central junction; ASS 77 PD has the lift-and-slide mechanism and higher base thermal spec. Side-by-side comparison: /blog/cortizo-vs-schuco.
Is the Cor Vision a lift-and-slide?
No — Cor Vision Sliding and Cor Vision Plus Sliding are standard sliders. The leaf rolls horizontally on a precision track and the handle operates the lock. For lift-and-slide (where the handle physically lifts the leaf off the weather seal before sliding) Cortizo offers the 4700 Sliding Patio and 4900 Sliding HI systems — see /cortizo/lift-and-slide.
Can Cortizo sliding doors be fitted with a flush threshold?
Yes — flush threshold options are available across the Cor Vision range for level (step-free) access between inside and outside. The detail matters for accessibility-priority installations and contemporary projects where the inside floor finish runs visually unbroken to the patio. Talk to us at the survey stage; we'll specify the right threshold detail for your build.
What U-values do Cortizo sliders achieve?
Cortizo's thermally broken profiles deliver excellent whole-product U-values across the residential range. Specific Uw is calculated per opening based on the chosen glazing unit, frame size and configuration at quote stage; comfortably exceeds Approved Document L's 1.4 W/m²K maximum for replacement doors.
Are Cortizo sliders available in any RAL colour?
Yes — full RAL palette plus anodised finishes (champagne, bronze, dark grey, black) and dual-colour configurations (one finish inside, a different one outside). Aluminium colour stability comes from the powder-coat or anodising process, so dark colours and bold finishes don't fade or peel over decades.
Are Cortizo sliders Secured by Design?
Yes — Secured by Design configurations are available across the Cor Vision range. SBD is the UK police-approved security spec, recognised by Hiscox, Chubb, AIG and other premium home insurers. PAS 24:2022 certification is standard across opening profiles; SBD adds specific hardware and laminated-glass combinations on top.
