Choose Cortizo Cor Vision Plus when you want the largest glass area: sashes up to 4 m × 4 m (400 kg manual, 700 kg motorised), a 25 mm central junction and glazing up to 56 mm. Choose the 4700 lift-and-slide when you want the lift-and-slide action, where the handle lifts the leaf off its seal to slide and seats it back firmly when closed, or when PAS 24 is required. Cor Vision Plus is not PAS 24 compatible, so where PAS 24 is required we specify Cor Vision or the 4700. The choice is usually clear from the spec at the survey stage.

What is the difference between sliding and lift-and-slide?

On a standard slider (Cortizo Cor Vision, Schuco ASE) the handle operates the lock and the leaf rolls along the track. On a lift-and-slide the handle physically lifts the leaf off its weather seal before sliding — this gives the mechanical advantage to move very heavy sashes smoothly by hand, and the closed leaf seats more firmly onto the seal so the air-tightness when closed is excellent. Lift-and-slide is the architectural spec for very large sashes, motorised operation, or where the closed-state air-tightness needs to be exceptional.

Which Cortizo lift-and-slide door do you fit?

We fit the lift-and-slide version of the Cortizo 4700 Sliding Patio. It carries sashes up to 300 kg at up to 2.5 m × 3 m behind a 47 mm interlock, with whole-window Uw from 1.0 W/m²K. The same system is also built as an in-line slider (sashes up to 280 kg), and we recommend between the two at survey based on sash weight, daily use and how airtight the closed door needs to be.

Is the Cortizo 4900 Sliding HI a lift-and-slide door?

Both are premium aluminium lift-and-slide systems for large sashes. Schuco's distinguishing strengths are the ASS 70.HI Slimline e-slide motorisation option and ASS 77 PD Panorama (max sash 3200×3000mm at 500kg, Uw < 0.8 W/m²K, RC2 burglar resistance, 30mm central section).
