The Origin Window Range
OW-70 Slimline, flush outside
Sightlines of just 65 mm where frame meets sash, with the sash sitting flush with the frame on the outside face. Casement, bay, French and picture configurations, short-leg and long-leg frames, square or chamfered beads and a 28 mm glass unit. Tested to PAS 24:2022 and Secured by Design, with Origin's bespoke Nemesis lock and anti-slip hinge guards.
OW-80 Premium, flush inside and out
The sash sits flush on both faces for Origin's clean Gallery look, in casement, bay, gable, French and picture configurations. Larger sashes (side hung to 1,000 × 1,800 mm), glass units up to 44 mm and a best U-value of 0.9 W/m²K, or 0.8 W/m²K and an A++ energy rating with the optional Aerogel upgrade. PAS 24:2022 and Secured by Design, with a Yale Encloser lock.
Origin Tilt and Turn
An inward-opening window that tilts at the top for secure ventilation and turns fully open for cleaning from inside, which makes it a natural choice for upper floors. Origin offers it in short-leg and long-leg frames, with whole-window U-values from 1.4 W/m²K double glazed down to 0.83 W/m²K triple glazed. It is tested to PAS 24:2022.
Bifold windows
Origin also makes bifold windows, which fold back to open a whole section of wall: a popular choice as a kitchen servery onto a garden or terrace. We confirm the sizes and panel layout for your opening when we quote.

What is the difference between the Origin OW-70 and OW-80?
The OW-70 Slimline is flush on the outside only, with a 65 mm frame-and-sash sightline, a 70 mm frame and a 28 mm glass unit; its best whole-window U-value is 1.2 W/m²K. The OW-80 Premium is flush inside and out, with a 91 mm sightline, an 80 mm frame, glass up to 44 mm, larger maximum sashes and gable windows; it reaches 0.9 W/m²K, or 0.8 W/m²K with the Aerogel upgrade. Both are tested to PAS 24:2022 and Secured by Design.
What configurations do Origin windows come in?
The OW-70 comes as casement (side or top hung), bay, French and picture windows. The OW-80 adds gable windows, with angles down to 20 degrees, and bay angles from 117 to 175 degrees. Origin also makes tilt and turn windows and bifold windows, so one supplier covers every window in the house.
What U-value do Origin windows achieve?
With a 28 mm double-glazed unit at a 1.2 centre pane, the OW-70 reaches 1.5 W/m²K and the OW-80 1.4 W/m²K. A 1.1 centre pane brings the OW-70 to 1.4 W/m²K, which meets Part L for replacement windows. The OW-80 with triple glazing reaches 0.9 W/m²K, and 0.8 W/m²K with the Aerogel upgrade. Tilt and turn runs from 1.4 W/m²K down to 0.83 W/m²K.
Are Origin windows secure?
Yes. Both the OW-70 and OW-80 are tested to PAS 24:2022 and carry police-backed Secured by Design accreditation, and Origin's tilt and turn window is also tested to PAS 24:2022. The certification applies with a P1A laminated glass unit, which we specify whenever you need it. The OW-70 uses Origin's bespoke Nemesis lock and the OW-80 a Yale Encloser lock, both with anti-slip, lockable hinge guards. The OW-80 has also been impact tested to 2,633 Pa as a casement and 3,591 Pa as a fixed light.
How big can an Origin window be?
A side-hung OW-70 sash goes up to 1,000 mm wide and 1,550 mm tall, and an OW-80 sash up to 1,000 × 1,800 mm. Top-hung sashes reach 1,374 × 1,474 mm on the OW-70 and 1,500 × 1,500 mm on the OW-80. Fixed panes can have sides up to 4,800 mm, with a maximum area of 4.8 m² on the OW-70 and 7 m² on the OW-80.
What is a tilt and turn window?
A tilt and turn window opens inwards in two ways: tilted in at the top for ventilation while staying secure, or turned fully open on its side hinges for cleaning and airflow. Origin's version comes in short-leg and long-leg frames with U-values down to 0.83 W/m²K triple glazed. Are Origin flush casement windows suitable for period homes?
A flush casement, where the sash sits in the same plane as the frame, gives a cleaner, more traditional look than a standard stepped casement, which is why flush windows are often chosen for period and character properties. Whether a particular window is acceptable in a conservation area is your local planning authority's decision, and we can provide Origin's product specification for your application.
What colours do Origin windows come in?
Popular finishes include Jet Black 9005M, Textured Black 9005T, Anthracite Grey 7016M, Black Grey 7021M and Hipca White, with more than 150 RAL colours and a marine-grade finish for coastal homes. The OW-80 is also available in woodgrain finishes. Handles come in inline, offset, Signature Knurled and Heritage styles.
