What are Origin front doors made of?
Origin front doors are thermally broken aluminium, with a 75 mm frame and a 59 mm sash. With a door panel fitted, the door reaches a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K.
How secure is an Origin front door?
Origin front doors carry police-backed Secured by Design accreditation and PAS 24:2016, and comply with Approved Document Q. They use the same 8-point locking system as Origin's bifolds, or a 5-point automatic lock that engages when the door closes, with a 3-Star Diamond cylinder as standard.
What designs are available?
Ten panel designs across two ranges. Kensington: SE 04, SE 07, TR 02, CO 01 and GE 01. Sandringham: CO 04, SA 02, SA 03, SE 01 and CO 05. You can also choose a fully glazed door with clear or frosted glass, or a mid-rail design, and add side flags and a transom for a wider, brighter entrance.
What is an Origin garage door?
Origin's garage door is its front door built as a pair of French doors, so the garage gets a secure, insulated pedestrian entrance in the same design and colour as your front door. Both leaves can open together, or you can use one leaf day to day. It is a hinged door rather than an up-and-over or roller door, with marine-grade hinges, a Therminax-core panel and a choice of four thresholds.
How big can an Origin front door be?
A single door can be up to 1,200 mm wide and 2,700 mm tall with a multi-point lock, or 2,500 mm tall with the automatic lock. French doors go up to 2,502 mm wide and 2,500 mm tall. Side flags and transoms extend the overall entrance beyond the door itself.
Can I have a level threshold?
Yes. Origin offers a low 20 mm mobility threshold, alongside weathered (67 mm) and non-weathered (50 mm) thresholds. We recommend the right one for your entrance's exposure when we survey.
What colours and hardware are available?
More than 150 RAL colours. Hardware includes stainless steel lever handles, bow and Hafi bar handles, offset handles in white, chrome, black or stainless steel, and matching cylinder pulls, knockers and letterboxes.
How does an Origin front door compare with a steel security door?
An Origin aluminium front door is an architectural entrance door with Secured by Design and PAS 24 certification.
