Roof Lanterns in Borehamwood
Roof lanterns are transforming kitchen extensions on the semi-detached and detached family homes in Borehamwood across the WD6 postcode. Where a flat-roof rear extension would once have been a dark space, a Korniche roof lantern fills it with natural light from above, making the kitchen-diner feel substantially larger and brighter. The fast, gasket-sealed glazing goes in quickly, and the slim, reduced-width rafters put more glass overhead than older lantern designs. Standard and bespoke sizes are available up to 6m x 4m. We install roof lanterns across Borehamwood and the surrounding areas including Radlett and Watford, often as part of a combined project with bifold or sliding doors. Vitrum Solutions surveys Borehamwood homes throughout the area, including near Elstree Studios and BBC Elstree Centre. Building Regulations compliance for Borehamwood installations is handled to Hertsmere Borough Council requirements as standard.
Roof Lanterns and Borehamwood Homes
Borehamwood's housing is mostly post-war. The large estates built after the Second World War are made up of brick terraces and semi-detached houses, many of them former council homes now in private ownership. The most common Borehamwood projects are full-house Rehau TOTAL70 casement replacements on the post-war terraces and semis, often with a Palladio composite front door, and Cortizo or Schuco aluminium bifold or sliding doors with Korniche roof lanterns on rear and side extensions.
