Windows & Doors in Borehamwood

Borehamwood is the largest town in the Borough of Hertsmere in south Hertfordshire, about 12 miles from Charing Cross and close to the Greater London boundary. With neighbouring Elstree it forms the parish of Elstree and Borehamwood, and the town is best known for its film and television studios: Elstree Studios on Shenley Road and the BBC Elstree Centre. The WD6 postcode covers Borehamwood, Elstree and Well End. Elstree & Borehamwood station, on the west side of town, has frequent trains on the Midland Main Line into St Pancras. The population grew sharply after the Second World War, when large areas of council housing were built for families moving out of London, and many of those homes are now privately owned. That gives Borehamwood a large stock of post-war suburban houses whose windows and doors are due for replacement. Vitrum Solutions provides free, no-obligation quotations across Borehamwood and Elstree from our base in Uxbridge, West London, with every installation FENSA registered and backed by a 10-year CPA insurance-backed guarantee.

Property Types in Borehamwood

Borehamwood's housing is mostly post-war. The large estates built after the Second World War are made up of brick terraces and semi-detached houses, many of them former council homes now in private ownership. Elstree village, on the south-western edge of the town, keeps an older village core.

Popular Installations in Borehamwood

The most common Borehamwood projects are full-house Rehau TOTAL70 casement replacements on the post-war terraces and semis, often with a Palladio composite front door, and Cortizo or Schuco aluminium bifold or sliding doors with Korniche roof lanterns on rear and side extensions. For homeowners who want more front-door security we fit Gerda steel doors (RC2 as standard, RC3 on Optima and Thermo Premium) and SteelR RC4 doors. Cortizo, Schuco and Rehau units are fabricated at our Uxbridge workshop.
