Ickenham is a village in the London Borough of Hillingdon, on the northern side of Uxbridge, and it is where our office and showroom are, at 90 Glebe Avenue. The village grew up around St Giles' Church and the pump that Charlotte Gell left to the community in 1866, and it stayed small until the Metropolitan Railway opened a halt here in 1905. In 1922 much of the Swakeleys estate was auctioned for housing, and roads such as Swakeleys Drive, Warren Road and Court Road were laid out over the following years; in 1939 Milton Farm made way for Milton Road and Milton Court, marketed as Ickenham Garden City. The UB10 postcode covers the village. Ickenham station is on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, and West Ruislip station, on the Ruislip border, adds the Central line and Chiltern Railways.
