Windows & Doors in Hayes

Hayes is one of the largest towns in the London Borough of Hillingdon, about 13 miles west of Charing Cross, with almost 94,000 residents at the 2021 census once Hayes End, Harlington and Yeading are included. It grew from separate villages, among them Botwell, Hayes Town, Hayes End, Wood End and Yeading, and the UB3 and UB4 postcodes cover the town today. Hayes & Harlington station, opened in 1868, is on the Great Western Main Line and the Elizabeth line, and the Grand Union Canal runs through the town centre. For much of the twentieth century Hayes was an industrial town and the long-time home of EMI, whose surviving buildings are now The Old Vinyl Factory, with Enterprise House of 1912 at its centre. Harlington, on the southern side, borders Heathrow. Our showroom in Ickenham and our workshop in Uxbridge are a short drive north, and every Hayes installation is FENSA registered with a 10-year CPA insurance-backed guarantee, with free, no-obligation quotations.

Property Types in Hayes

Hayes has a broad mix of homes. After the First World War the Hayes Development Company made land available for industry and for workers' housing, and garden suburb-style cottages were built for people employed in the new factories. Around them are streets of semi-detached and terraced family houses from the middle of the century, post-war family housing towards Yeading and Hayes End, and the old village around St Mary's Church on Church Road. The redevelopment of The Old Vinyl Factory and other former industrial sites has added apartments and townhouses.

Popular Installations in Hayes

Full-house Rehau TOTAL70 replacements and Palladio composite front doors are the most common Hayes projects, with Cortizo and Schuco aluminium sliding and bifold doors on rear extensions. Closer to Heathrow, around Harlington, acoustic glass units are worth considering to cut aircraft noise, and we specify them in both uPVC and aluminium frames. Homes in the Hayes Village Conservation Area, around St Mary's Church, are checked against the London Borough of Hillingdon's guidance before we quote. Cortizo, Schuco and Rehau units are fabricated at our Uxbridge workshop.
