The standard AWS 70.HI sits among the slimmest aluminium casement frames we fit as a mainstream specification. The SC Slimline variant goes further, narrowing the visible frame for openings where maximising glass area is the priority, such as a contemporary extension or a full rebuild. On a period property or a like-for-like replacement, the standard AWS 70.HI usually reads as the more appropriate match.

Opening Styles

This is where the AWS 70 range gives genuine flexibility. The standard casement suits fixed and side-hung opening lights for straightforward ventilation. The Tilt-and-Turn variant is worth specifying anywhere a window needs to open fully inward for cleaning from inside, such as an upper floor or a window that is difficult to access externally, while still offering a secure tilted position for day-to-day ventilation.
